Texto de la carta

Si la Línea mística de la singularidad está en tu mano inicial, puedes comenzar el juego con ella en juego. Todos los permanentes que no sean tierra son legendarios.

Donde el renombre y la soledad convergen.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Leyline of Singularity offers a unique form of card advantage by turning each permanent into a one-of-a-kind asset on the battlefield. This can effectively disrupt your opponent’s strategy, especially if they rely on multiple copies of a given permanent. It converts your permanents into more valuable resources under the right circumstances.

Resource Acceleration: While Leyline of Singularity itself doesn’t directly accelerate resources in the traditional sense, it does streamline your strategy by singling out key non-land permanents. This allows for more effective use of your removal spells and other resources, as each now only needs to target a single instance of a permanent.

Instant Speed: Although Leyline of Singularity does not operate at instant speed, its ability to commence the game on the battlefield if in your opening hand gives you an immediate board presence. This can be seen as a form of instant impact, getting ahead of the game before your opponents have had a chance to play.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Leyline of Singularity doesn’t necessitate discarding, however, its effect of making all nonland cards singular can inadvertently cause you to discard if multiple same-name permanents are on your battlefield, limiting your board presence.

Specific Mana Cost: This card requires four mana with a single blue, possibly straining mana resources and dictating a need for blue mana production in a player’s deck construction.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: Although offering a unique effect, the card comes with a high initial cost which may not immediately impact the board state, especially when compared with other four-mana spells that could provide more immediate advantages or alter the game state more significantly.

Reasons to Include Leyline of Singularity in Your Collection

Versatility: Leyline of Singularity offers a unique twist in games, making each nonland card a unique entity. This can disrupt opponents’ strategies that rely on tokens or duplicates, making it a broad-spectrum defensive tool.

Combo Potential: This card has the potential to be a linchpin in inventive combos. Its ability to turn the battlefield into a land of singularities can synergize with effects that punish or capitalize on the presence of non-unique permanents.

Meta-Relevance: In metas heavily saturated with token strategies or decks leaning on multiple copies of the same creature for success, Leyline of Singularity can be a sideboard silver bullet, tilting the odds in your favor.

How to beat

Leyline of Singularity is a unique card in Magic: The Gathering that gives each nonland permanent the status of being singular on the battlefield, which can throw off many strategies reliant on multiple copies of the same card. Understandably, facing a situation where Leyline of Singularity is influencing the game, players will need to adapt their strategies accordingly.

To counter this card effectively, it’s essential to focus on removal spells that sidestep the singularity condition. If you’re running a deck with creatures, consider using more legendary creatures to maintain your board presence since they are unaffected by the Leyline’s rule. Spot removal spells are also highly effective since they target individual threats, aligning perfectly with Leyline’s constraints. Incorporating a versatile arsenal of instant-speed interaction can help you manage the battlefield effectively, no matter how singular the permanents get.

Additionally, utilizing enchantment removal spells or abilities can directly remove Leyline of Singularity from play, instantly nullifying its effects and restoring the normal rules of the game. Efficiently dismantling your opponent’s setup by dealing with the Leyline quickly allows your strategy to proceed uninterrupted, demonstrating the importance of flexibility and adaptability in your deck building.

Leyline of Singularity is a unique enchantment that holds a special place among MTG cards. Its effect makes all nonland permanents unique, echoing the influence of effects found in cards like Legend’s Rule, which forces the uniqueness of legendary permanents. However, Leyline of Singularity applies to all nonland cards, dramatically expanding its reach. It’s a game-changer in any match, especially in formats filled with token strategies or decks that rely on similar creature copies.

Relic of Legends is another card with a somewhat similar impact. While it’s more limited, only affecting legendary creatures, the concept of controlling the uniqueness of the battlefield resonates with what Leyline of Singularity aims to achieve. Mirror Gallery breaks the mold by allowing the coexistence of multiple copies of legendary creatures. In contrast, Leyline of Singularity maintains the singularity of all nonland permanents, reinforcing its role as a disruptor.

Evaluating Leyline of Singularity alongside its peers, it’s clear that its broad approach to uniqueness sets it apart. It’s a powerful tool, especially in environments where replicating permanents is a common strategy. Its versatility and broad effect make it a standout in the world of MTG enchantments.

Fecha Texto
2006-02-01 Adding a supertype doesn’t overwrite other supertypes. Each nonland permanent will be legendary in addition to its other supertypes.
2013-07-01 If the game starts with more than one Leyline of Singularity under a single player’s control, all but one of them will be put into their owners’ graveyards right after the upkeep of the first turn starts. If the game started with multiple copies of any other Leylines under a single player’s control, that player will also put all but one of them into their graveyard at that time.
2013-07-01 The “legend rule” says that if a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same name, that player chooses one of them and the rest are put into their owners’ graveyards. Notably, if you control Leyline of Singularity and two or more creature tokens with the same name, only one of the tokens will be allowed to remain on the battlefield.
2016-06-08 A player’s “opening hand” is the hand of cards the player has after all players have taken mulligans and “scryed” if applicable. If players have any cards in hand that allow actions to be taken with them from a player’s opening hand, the starting player takes all such actions first in any order, followed by each other player in turn order. Then the first turn begins.
