Where to buy

If you're looking to purchase Starlight Spectacular MTG card by a specific set like Unfinity and Unfinity, there are several reliable options to consider. One of the primary sources is your local game store, where you can often find booster packs, individual cards, and preconstructed decks from current and some past sets. Text of card

Parade! — At the beginning of combat on your turn, choose creatures you control one at a time until each creature you control has been chosen. Each of those creatures gets +1/+1 until end of turn for each creature chosen before it. (Places everyone! The first creature in line gets +0/+0.)

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Starlight Spectacular offers a unique twist on card advantage by allowing you to not only draw a card but also to foretell a card at a reduced cost from your hand. This creates a strategic edge in deck maneuverability and planning ahead.

Resource Acceleration: This card goes beyond traditional resource acceleration. With its potential to cast foretold cards on later turns for less mana, Starlight Spectacular paves the way for you to deploy your threats and answers earlier than usual, giving you a jump on the competition.

Instant Speed: The versatility of Starlight Spectacular being at instant speed grants you the flexibility to respond to your opponent’s moves or end-step manipulations. This level of unpredictability can disrupt your adversary’s strategy while you progressively build your advantage under the cover of night.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Starlight Spectacular necessitates discarding another card, which could be costly if your hand is already depleting your strategic options.

Specific Mana Cost: This enchantment requires a precise combination of mana colors to cast, which may not always align with your deck’s mana base.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: With a mana value that’s on the higher side, players might find themselves foregoing quicker plays for the potential benefits this card offers, which could hinder their early game progress.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: Starlight Spectacular slides effortlessly into multiple deck archetypes. Its ability to manipulate enchantments or aura spells makes it a staple for players looking to customize their battlefield presence in a jiffy.

Combo Potential: With this card, combo aficionados can unearth potent synergy, dovetailing with strategies that revolve around instant spells or that capitalize on spell copying to amplify board impact.

Meta-Relevance: Considering the shifting landscape of the meta, Starlight Spectacular continues to show its strength, maintaining relevance particularly in environments where reactive play and enchantment utilization are key to victory.

How to beat

Starlight Spectacular emerges as a distinct tool in the enchantment arsenal for MTG enthusiasts. This card demands immediate attention, as it can significantly alter the battlefield with its unique effect. To outmaneuver this card, a proactive approach is essential. As Starlight Spectacular provides an opportunity to cast spells at a reduced cost during your turn, the key is to avoid letting your opponent capitalize on this window. Thwarting their plans might involve removing the enchantment swiftly with cards like Disenchant or employing countermagic such as Negate to intercept it before it has a chance to influence the game.

A successful strategy could also involve pressuring your opponent early in the game, which limits their capability to leverage Starlight Spectacular’s cost reduction effect to its full potential. By maintaining a fast pace and keeping your opponent on the back foot, they may find it challenging to use their mana efficiently or execute their planned combos. Using direct damage spells or aggressive creatures to disrupt your opponent’s game plan can prevent them from setting up a scenario where Starlight Spectacular could turn the tides in their favor.

Ultimately, understanding the timing and context when facing this enchantment is crucial. By being one step ahead and either removing the enchantment or hindering your opponent’s ability to use it effectively, you can maintain control and mitigate the impact of Starlight Spectacular on the match.

Cards like Starlight Spectacular

Starlight Spectacular joins the enchanting suite of aura spells in the universe of MTG, akin to ethereal enchantments like Ethereal Armor. It imbues creatures with soaring stats, much like Ethereal Armor that also boosts a creature’s power based on enchantment count. Yet, Starlight Spectacular shines differently by possibly granting multiple keywords, depending on the constellation of enchantments present — a versatility not offered by the Armor.

Glaring Spotlight is another relative worth mentioning. Where Starlight Spectacular grants protection through enchantments, Glaring Spotlight can make creatures unblockable. However, it doesn’t offer the power boost or the diversity of keywords that Starlight Spectacular could potentially bestow. Spectra Ward is a comparable aura as well, giving substantial protection and a power increase, but at a higher mana cost and without the same keyword range. Each card carries its strategic advantages, emphasizing either unblockability, resiliency, or strength in versatility.

Considering all aspects, Starlight Spectacular could be a game-changer in decks leaning heavily on enchantments. Its ability to adapt and empower creatures with a variety of keywords makes it a unique spell amongst its MTG peers, tailored for enchantment-rich strategies.

Date Text
2022-10-07 If you control more than one Starlight Spectacular, each one calculates its bonuses separately. For example, if you control three creatures and two Starlight Spectaculars, each Spectacular will give one creature +0/+0, another +1/+1 and the third +2/+2. You could choose a different order for each one though.
2022-10-07 You don’t have to line up the creatures in a parade line to get the bonuses, but it would be spectacular if you did.
