Cards like The Eternal Wanderer

The Eternal Wanderer steps into the battlefield of MTG as a powerful force among planeswalker cards. This newcomer shares similarities with cards like Sarkhan the Masterless, particularly in the ability to create creature tokens. The Eternal Wanderer, however, can potentially generate a wider variety of token creatures, offering a more versatile defense strategy for players.

Exploring further, we can compare The Eternal Wanderer with Elspeth, Sun’s Champion, another card renowned for its token generation. While Elspeth focuses on flooding the board with soldiers, The Eternal Wanderer’s strength lies in creating select powerful token creatures. Additionally, The Eternal Wanderer can surprise opponents with instant-speed interaction thanks to its ability to exile cards.

Although The Eternal Wanderer does not boast the same recursive ability as Liliana, the Last Hope, its multifaceted token creation and exile capabilities signify a well-rounded choice for deck builders seeking control and board presence. This makes The Eternal Wanderer a strong contender for inclusion in decks that value flexibility and the element of surprise.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: The Eternal Wanderer excels in providing card advantage with its ability to potentially exile multiple opposing threats. This not only removes immediate problems but also gives you a significant advantage over your opponent.

Resource Acceleration: This card can offer resource acceleration by enabling interactions with other cards that trigger upon casting high mana-value spells. It creates opportunities to rapidly advance your board state and leverage powerful effects sooner than expected.

Instant Speed: The capability to operate at instant speed grants you the versatility to react to your opponent’s moves. This allows strategic depth and the element of surprise, which is pivotal for maintaining control during crucial moments in the battle.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: The Eternal Wanderer requires discarding as part of its abilities, posing a challenge when your hand is already depleted or the discarded card is of higher value than the benefits gained.

Specific Mana Cost: This card necessitates a particular combination of mana types that might not align with all deck strategies, potentially limiting its versatility in multi-color decks.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: With a mana cost that’s on the upper end, it competes for a slot in your curve with other impactful cards that could be played sooner or offer more immediate board presence.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: The Eternal Wanderer offers flexibility in deck-building, complementing a wide array of strategies with its unique spellcasting and exile abilities.

Combo Potential: This planeswalker’s loyalty abilities pave the way for dynamic combos, particularly in decks that manipulate exile zones or capitalize on casting spells from unusual places.
