Texto de la carta

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Rune of Speed grants you an immediate card draw upon enchanting a permanent, offering a slight edge in card economy. This can be pivotal in matches where maintaining hand size translates into more strategic options.

Resource Acceleration: By providing an enchanted creature with haste, Rune of Speed enables you to utilize new creatures without the wait, effectively speeding up your gameplay and potentially catching your opponent off-guard.

Instant Speed: While Rune of Speed itself is not an instant, it augments the utility of creatures that can be played at instant speed, allowing for sudden and unexpected swings in board presence. Additionally, the flexibility of attaching it to any permanent means it can be played in response to the situation on the board, optimizing its impact on the game.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: While Rune of Speed offers a quick boost, the necessity to potentially discard another useful card from hand to utilize its escape mechanism might set players back, especially in tight gameplay situations where every card in hand counts.

Specific Mana Cost: Rune of Speed comes with a specific mana requirement that must be met to cast it. This condition can limit deck compatibility, confining it to decks that can reliably generate red mana, potentially excluding it from more versatile or color-diverse strategies.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: When evaluating the card’s overall efficiency, the single red mana might seem reasonable, but it’s essential to consider the card’s cost in the context of its benefit. There are instances where investing in this card may not be as economical compared to other options that enhance speed or provide haste, especially when considering the cumulative cost to maximize its potential.

Reasons to Include Rune of Speed in Your Collection

Versatility: Rune of Speed is a flexible addition to decks that seek to enhance their creatures’ abilities. It grants haste, allowing for immediate impact on the board, and also provides additional card draw to maintain your hand advantage.

Combo Potential: With its ability to accelerate creature attacks and complement synergies that revolve around enchantments or auras, Rune of Speed can unlock high-value plays and turn the tides of a game swiftly.

Meta-Relevance: As swift aggro and aura-based strategies find a place in the current competitive scene, incorporating Rune of Speed can give your deck the edge by outpacing control setups and establishing a tempo that’s hard for opponents to match.

How to beat

Rune of Speed is a versatile enchantment card that can accelerate your MTG deck, giving a creature haste and an additional boost when drawing a card. To effectively counter this card, prioritize removal spells that can target enchantments or the creatures they empower. Naturalize or Disenchant are excellent choices as they can directly destroy Rune of Speed, potentially stalling your opponent’s momentum. Furthermore, consider incorporating counterspells like Negate or Dovin’s Veto in your strategy, allowing you to prevent the rune’s cast altogether.

Beyond individual cards, adapting your play style is crucial. Be vigilant and keep mana open for instant-speed responses when you suspect your opponent might cast Rune of Speed. Timing is essential. Haste can catch players off guard, so being proactive rather than reactive can make all the difference. Also, effective deck building to include versatile answers ensures that you won’t be at a disadvantage when facing enchantment-heavy strategies. Keep in mind that disrupting your opponent’s plan early on will give you a solid lead and potentially secure your victory.

Offering both an acceleration for your creatures and a card draw, it’s a tool that brings immediate board influence and maintains your card flow, critical in fast-paced matches. Whether you’re looking to perfect an aggressive red deck or enhance a multicolor strategy, Rune of Speed can provide that burst of momentum crucial for victory. Cartas como Runa de la velocidad

Rune of Speed is an enchantment that shines within Magic: The Gathering for its enchanting capabilities and the added bonus of haste to creatures. When looking at comparable effects, it falls in line with cards like Fervor, which grants all your creatures haste, allowing for an instant increase in tempo. Yet, Rune of Speed is unique in its dual nature, providing card draw upon entering the battlefield when cast as an aura that enhances a specific creature or equipment.

Another enchantment echoing the swift motif is Swiftfoot Boots, bestowing not just haste but also hexproof to any creature it’s equipped to. This gives creatures a protective advantage that Rune of Speed does not, although the latter still offers the valuable card draw mechanic. For enthusiasts of the quick play, Goblin Motivator is also a contender, able to give haste to another target creature. The key difference, however, is in the permanent nature of Rune of Speed on the battlefield compared to the Motivator’s one-time activation.

While these cards offer haste, what sets Rune of Speed apart in MTG is its strategic versatility, combining acceleration with a subtle yet effective draw option, making it a multifaceted tool in many Red decks.

Fecha Texto
2021-02-05 If the target of an Aura spell is an illegal target as that spell tries to resolve, it won’t resolve, it won’t enter the battlefield, and none of its enters-the-battlefield triggered abilities will trigger.
2021-02-05 Runes can target and be attached to any permanent, even one that isn’t currently a creature or an Equipment. You can cast a Rune choosing a Vehicle as the target, for example. The Rune’s enters-the-battlefield ability will trigger, and you’ll draw a card. The Rune won’t do anything while the Vehicle isn’t a creature, but if it becomes one later, the appropriate ability will start applying.
