Texto da carta

Roll two d8 and choose one result. Draw cards equal to that result. Then you may cast an instant or sorcery spell with mana value less than or equal to the other result from your hand without paying its mana cost.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Arcane Endeavor lets you roll two dice, drawing a number of cards equal to the result of the highest roll. This potentially massive card advantage makes it a powerful tool for refilling your hand.

Resource Acceleration: This card also provides a boost to your mana resources. The second part of its effect, based on the lowest roll, lets you scry and potentially ramp your mana base. Whether casting bigger spells earlier or simply having more options, resource acceleration is a valuable advantage Arcane Endeavour provides.

Instant Speed: This spell can be launched at instant speed, presenting an unexpected turn of events to opponents. Its instant nature allows saving it for the perfect moment or even for the opponent’s turn, maximizing its impact and giving you the upper hand.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Arcane Endeavor forces you to discard a card as an additional pay-to-play cost. This requirement can potentially deplete your hand, making it a less appealing choice if your resources are already running thin.

Specific Mana Cost: The card necessitates the availability of specific blue mana. It limits the card’s versatility, restricting its placement to only certain types of decks, particularly blue-oriented or multi-color decks capable of generating the needed mana.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: With a solid cost of six mana (plus one of any color), Arcane Endeavor brings a hefty price. There exists a multitude of alternatives that offer more efficient card draw or resource generation with a lower total mana investment.

Reasons to Include Arcane Endeavor in Your Collection

Versatility: The Arcane Endeavor card is a great addition to any deck due to its flexible nature. Its dual abilities of drawing cards and untapping lands open a myriad of strategic possibilities, fitting into more deck archetypes than you can count. Whether you’re playing a control, combo, or aggro, this card will serve you well.

Combo Potential: Given the right board state, Arcane Endeavor can truly shine by setting up powerful combos. The card’s perks lend themselves well to decks revolving around instant or sorcery strategies, helping you draw into the pivotal pieces you need while simultaneously providing the necessary mana to play them.

Meta-Relevance: Arcane Endeavor holds significance in the current meta, where control and tempo decks are popular. It can provide card advantage, giving you extra resources to keep pace with or even outvalue your opponents. Plus, it’s incredibly useful in longer games where resource management becomes critical.

How to Beat

Arcane Endeavor is a unique MTG card, providing players with increased card draw and potentially providing additional mana resources. The card stands out as a spell of instant power, reminiscent of other cards such as Treasure Cruise, with a variance coming in the form of rolling dice to determine the benefits one can reap.

Contrastingly, Treasure Cruise simply allows for drawing three cards with a cost of eight mana, though this can be reduced by employing Delve. Resolving Arcane Endeavor, however, has greater unpredictability due to the dice roll mechanism, which calls for a different strategy to face it.

Packing your deck with counterspells can help keep Arcane Endeavor at bay. Spells like Drown in the Loch, Neutralize or Mystical Dispute which counter target spells can be a game-changer here. Additionally, keeping an eye on your opponent’s mana resources and playing strategically to limit their options can result in them being unable to cast Arcane Endeavor at critical times.

To conclude, while Arcane Endeavor’s unpredictability and power make it a formidable card, mindful strategic moves can certainly put you in a position to beat it. Remember, Overcoming Arcane Endeavor involves a careful blend of smart deckbuilding and strategic play.

BurnMana Recommendations

With its unique blend of card draw and resource acceleration, Arcane Endeavor is a spellcaster’s delight. Its instant speed allows for surprising plays, turning the tides in the deck owner’s favor. However, balancing its high mana cost and specific mana requirements is key. While it potentially paves the way for game-winning combos, smart deckbuilding is essential to avoid its drawbacks like the discard requirement. For players seeking to optimize their strategies and explore exciting gameplay dynamics, mastering Arcane Endeavor can be rewarding. Ready for a magic-filled journey? Cartas similares a Arcane Endeavor

Arcane Endeavor is a compelling spell card in MTG’s universe with its unique ability to shape the game. It finds parallels with spells like Concentrate, which also draws three cards. Arcane Endeavor distinguishes itself with an added bonus – rolling dice to untap lands, which Concentrate doesn’t offer and doesn’t have the bonus of impacting mana resources.

In a similar discussion, we have Jace’s Ingenuity that also allows card draw but is instant and costly with five mana requirement. Though it doesn’t offer untapping lands, it possesses its attributes. Comparably, we find Tidings, another spell card that also lets you draw four cards but lacks the dice rolling mechanism and lands untapping advantage of Arcane Endeavor.

To conclude, Arcane Endeavor, when weighed against similar spells in MTG, holds a noteworthy position because of its strategic advantages, potential for game-changing plays, and capability to maintain resource stability.

Regras e informações

O guia de referência para regras de cartas de Magic: The Gathering Arcane Endeavor fornece decisões oficiais, quaisquer erratas emitidas, bem como um registro de todas as modificações funcionais que ocorreram.

Data Texto
2021-07-23 An ability that tells you to roll a die will also specify what to do with the result of that roll. Most often, this is in the form of a “results table” in the card text.
2021-07-23 An effect that says “choose a target, then roll a d20” or similar still uses the normal process of putting an ability on the stack and resolving it. Choosing targets is part of putting the ability on the stack and rolling the d20 happens later, as the ability resolves.
2021-07-23 Dice are identified by the number of faces each one has. For example, a d20 is a twenty-sided die.
2021-07-23 Dice used must have equally likely outcomes and the roll must be fair. Although physical dice are recommended, digital substitutes are allowed, provided they have the same number of equally likely outcomes as specified in the original roll instruction.
2021-07-23 Some abilities, like that of Pixie Guide and Barbarian Class, replace rolling a die with rolling extra dice and ignoring the lowest roll. The ignored rolls are not considered for the effect that instructed you to roll a die, and do not cause abilities to trigger. For all intents and purposes, once you determine which dice count, any extra dice were never rolled.
2021-07-23 Some effects instruct you to roll again. This uses the same number and type of dice as the original roll, and that roll will use the same set of possible outcomes.
2021-07-23 Some effects may modify the result of a die roll. This may be part of the instruction to roll a die or it may come from other cards. Anything that references the “result” of a die roll is looking for the result after these modifications. Anything that is looking for the “natural result” is looking for the number shown on the face of the die before these modifications.
2021-07-23 The instruction to roll a die and the effect that occurs because of the result are all part of the same ability. Players do not get the chance to respond to the ability after knowing the result of the roll.
2021-07-23 Tournament events have more specific rules regarding dice and die-rolling. For more information, please see the most recent version of the Magic Tournament Rules at https://wpn.wizards.com/en/document/magic-gathering-tournament-rules.
2021-07-23 While playing Planechase, rolling the planar die will cause any ability that triggers whenever a player rolls one or more dice to trigger. However, any effect that refers to a numerical result will ignore the rolling of the planar die.
