Texto da carta

Exile target nontoken creature. Return it to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: The Twining Twins card is a powerful asset for accruing card advantage. Casting this spell can significantly bolster your hand, providing you with additional options and the fuel to outpace your opponent’s strategy.

Resource Acceleration: By facilitating resource acceleration, Twining Twins gives players an immediate boost in mana resources. This can be a game-changer as it allows for more impactful plays earlier in the game, potentially altering the pace in your favor.

Instant Speed: The ability to play Twining Twins at instant speed is a tactical advantage. It allows players to operate with flexibility and precision, utilizing their mana effectively while responding to an opponent’s actions during their turn for maximum effect.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: For Twining Twins to take effect, you must discard another card which could put you at a disadvantage if your hand is already running sparse on options.

Specific Mana Cost: The card demands a precise combination of mana types to be cast. This specificity can make it a challenging fit for decks that don’t align with its color identity, potentially limiting its versatility in a multi-colored strategy.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: Twining Twins comes with a heftier mana price compared to other options in the game. Considering the investment, you may find other spells that yield a higher return or demand less of your mana pool for a similar or better effect.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: Twining Twins is a spell that offers flexibility in gameplay, capable of copying any instant or sorcery, rendering it a must-have for decks that capitalize on casting impactful spells multiple times for immense value.

Combo Potential: This card shines in synergistic environments, where it can exponentially increase the power of your combos. It works exceptionally well with spells that have potent effects, enabling complex and game-winning interactions.

Meta-Relevance: Given its ability to adapt and respond to various strategies, Twining Twins maintains its relevance in a dynamic MTG meta. It can disrupt an opponent’s tactics or amplify your own strategic plays, ensuring its valued presence in any collection.

How to Beat Twining Twins

Twining Twins brings a quirky twist to the realm of Magic: The Gathering with its clone capabilities. The card allows players to replicate a creature on the battlefield, potentially doubling the impact of that creature’s abilities. This makes it a card you don’t want to see across the table, especially if your opponent has formidable creatures in play.

To effectively counter Twining Twins, consider strategies like maintaining removal spells such as Path to Exile or Murder to disrupt their game plan. Since Twining Twins hinges on duplicating creatures already present, keeping the board clear of significant threats is key. Alternatively, counterspells like Counterspell or Negate can prevent Twining Twins from ever resolving, stifling your opponent’s key plays.

Being proactive is essential when facing this card; waiting until the twins are on board may be too late. Monitoring the state of the game and being ready to act when your opponent attempts to cast Twining Twins can make all the difference, preserving your lead and keeping your chances of victory intact.

The spell Twining Twins carves its niche within the pantheon of copy spells in Magic: The Gathering. Its likeness is seen in cards such as Double Cast, which allows players to copy the next instant or sorcery spell they cast during the turn it is played. Yet, Twining Twins offers a different tactical advantage by targeting two creature spells for copying, potentially doubling a player’s board presence.

Another equivalent card is Fork, which lets the caster copy any single instant or sorcery, enabling them to choose the same target or a new one, hence introducing tactical versatility to their spell-slinging strategies. However, Fork lacks the creature-oriented focus that Twining Twins exhibits. Twinning Staff also enters the comparison, as it empowers the caster to copy not just once but any additional times when they would copy a spell, therefore amplifying the effects of copy strategies.

When pitted against its counterparts, Twining Twins stands out for its ability to escalate creature-focused decks swiftly. Its uniqueness in targeting two creatures provides a distinct path to amplifying a player’s board state in a single move, offering a double threat over the more singular approach that other copy spells present in Magic: The Gathering.

Regras e informações

O guia de referência para regras de cartas de Magic: The Gathering Twining Twins // Swift Spiral fornece decisões oficiais, quaisquer erratas emitidas, bem como um registro de todas as modificações funcionais que ocorreram.

Data Texto
2023-09-01 An adventurer card is a permanent card in every zone except the stack, as well as while on the stack if not cast as an Adventure. Ignore its alternative characteristics in those cases. For example, while it's in your graveyard, Questing Druid is a green creature card whose mana value is 2. It can't be the target of Tenacious Tomeseeker's triggered ability ("return target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand").
2023-09-01 An effect may refer to a card, spell, or permanent that "has an Adventure." This refers to a card, spell, or permanent that has an adventurer card's set of alternative characteristics, even if they're not being used and even if that card was never cast as an Adventure.
2023-09-01 Casting a card as an Adventure isn't casting it for an alternative cost. Effects that allow you to cast a spell for an alternative cost or without paying its mana cost may allow you to apply those to the Adventure.
2023-09-01 If a spell is cast as an Adventure, its controller exiles it instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard as it resolves. For as long as it remains exiled, that player may cast it as a permanent spell. If an Adventure spell leaves the stack in any way other than resolving (most likely by being countered or by failing to resolve because its targets have all become illegal), that card won't be exiled and the spell's controller won't be able to cast it as a permanent later.
2023-09-01 If an adventurer card ends up in exile for any other reason than by exiling itself while resolving, it won't give you permission to cast it as a permanent spell.
2023-09-01 If an effect copies an Adventure spell, that copy is exiled as it resolves. It ceases to exist as a state-based action; it's not possible to cast the copy as a permanent.
2023-09-01 If an effect instructs you to choose a card name, you may choose the alternative Adventure name. Consider only the alternative characteristics to determine whether that is an appropriate name to choose.
2023-09-01 If an effect refers to a card, spell, or permanent that has an Adventure, it won't find an instant or sorcery spell on the stack that's been cast as an Adventure.
2023-09-01 If an object becomes a copy of an object that has an Adventure, the copy also has an Adventure. If it changes zones, it will either cease to exist (if it's a token) or cease to be a copy (if it's a nontoken permanent), and so you won't be able to cast it as an Adventure.
2023-09-01 If you cast an adventurer card as an Adventure, use only its alternative characteristics to determine whether it's legal to cast that spell. For example, if you control Johann, Apprentice Sorcerer ("Once each turn, you may cast an instant or sorcery spell from the top of your library.") and Questing Druid is on top of your library, you can cast Seek the Beast, but not Questing Druid.
2023-09-01 When casting a spell as an Adventure, use the alternative characteristics and ignore all of the card's normal characteristics. The spell's color, mana cost, mana value, and so on are determined by only those alternative characteristics. If the spell leaves the stack, it immediately resumes using its normal characteristics.
2023-09-01 You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions for the permanent spell you cast from exile. Normally, you'll be able to cast it only during your main phase while the stack is empty.
