Card Pros

Card Advantage: Djinni Windseer assists in filtering the top cards of your library, essentially paving the way to acquiring the resources you need for upcoming plays. This foresight can be critical in helping you access your deck’s full potential during a match.

Resource Acceleration: Although Djinni Windseer doesn’t directly accelerate resources, the selection it provides indirectly promotes more efficient use of the cards in your hand, allowing for smoother gameplay and potentially unlocking your strategic options sooner.

Instant Speed: The ability to anticipate and adapt to your opponent’s moves is a hallmark of a versatile card. While Djinni Windseer isn’t played at instant speed, its flying ability gives it an edge, letting it soar over the battlefield and often avoiding ground-based defense, all at a pace that keeps your opposition on their toes.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: One downside to Djinni Windseer is that it does not have any inherent ability that allows a player to discard a card, which means there’s no synergy with discard strategies that could potentially benefit your game plan.

Specific Mana Cost: Djinni Windseer requires both blue and additional generic mana to be cast. This dual-cost necessity can be tricky for decks that are not tuned to accommodate the specific mana needs, potentially causing delays in play or issues with mana curve.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: With a mana value of four, Djinni Windseer is considered to have a high cost for its stats and abilities. Other creatures in the same mana range could potentially offer more impactful abilities or stronger board presence, making it a less optimal choice in competitive play.

Reasons to Include Djinni Windseer in Your Collection

Versatility: Djinni Windseer offers a flexible fit for a variety of blue-centric decks. With flying, it serves as an evasive threat while also providing valuable scry before drawing, enhancing both aggressiveness and library manipulation.

Combo Potential: As a creature with scry, Djinni Windseer can be instrumental in setting up the top of your library for combos or synergizing with spells and abilities that care about the act of scrying or drawing cards.

Meta-Relevance: In a game that focuses on tempo and card advantage, this creature can easily find its niche. It’s particularly effective in formats where having foreknowledge of upcoming draws can make or break a match.

How to beat

Djinni Windseer enters the battlefield with an ability that lets you glimpse the future of your deck, a form of card advantage in the realm of Magic: The Gathering. This card presents a unique challenge, but it isn’t insurmountable. Overcome it by leveraging removal spells that can handle flying creatures. If your deck includes spells like Murder or Doom Blade, you can dispatch the Djinni Windseer quickly without letting your opponent benefit from its scry ability. Ensnaring the Windseer with enchantments that keep it tapped down can also be effective, as it halts both its offensive and defensive potential. In essence, prioritizing the removal of Djinni Windseer from the board is key to neutralizing threats it poses.

Furthermore, consider including cards that negate the scry benefit the Djinni offers. Play with your own library arrangement spells or shuffle effects, which can minimize the advantage your opponent gains. Playing around Djinni Windseer involves a blend of timely removal and strategic counterplay. Address it quickly in your matches and you’ll diminish the advantage it can grant to your opponent, keeping the scales balanced in your favor.

Cartas similares a Djinni Vidente do Vento

Djinni Windseer invites comparisons with other four-mana creatures but earns its place with its flying ability and anticipation mechanic. For instance, Air Elemental, another MTG card with a similar mana cost, boasts the same power but lacks the crucial scrying ability that Djinni Windseer provides. With Djinni Windseer, not only do you get a 3/3 flying creature, but the ability to scry 2 upon entry, essentially offering foresight into your upcoming draws.

Watercourser is another card that comes to mind. Although bearing a lower cost and the ability to tweak its power, it misses out on the flying trait, reducing its ability to evade ground blockers. Windreader Sphinx is a more substantial flying creature both in cost and effect, rewarding you with card draw for each creature with flying that attacks. Despite its appeal, the higher mana demand can be a detriment in faster-paced games, where Djinni Windseer’s balance of cost, effect, and speed gives it an edge.

Considering cost, capabilities, and momentum, Djinni Windseer can be a favorable choice in many decks, especially those that capitalize on efficient mid-game plays and value the power of foresight, positioning you better for the turns that follow.

Regras e informações

O guia de referência para regras de cartas de Magic: The Gathering Djinni Vidente do Vento fornece decisões oficiais, quaisquer erratas emitidas, bem como um registro de todas as modificações funcionais que ocorreram.

Data Texto
2021-07-23 An ability that tells you to roll a die will also specify what to do with the result of that roll. Most often, this is in the form of a “results table” in the card text.
2021-07-23 An effect that says “choose a target, then roll a d20” or similar still uses the normal process of putting an ability on the stack and resolving it. Choosing targets is part of putting the ability on the stack and rolling the d20 happens later, as the ability resolves.
2021-07-23 Dice are identified by the number of faces each one has. For example, a d20 is a twenty-sided die.
2021-07-23 Dice used must have equally likely outcomes and the roll must be fair. Although physical dice are recommended, digital substitutes are allowed, provided they have the same number of equally likely outcomes as specified in the original roll instruction.
2021-07-23 Some abilities, like that of Pixie Guide and Barbarian Class, replace rolling a die with rolling extra dice and ignoring the lowest roll. The ignored rolls are not considered for the effect that instructed you to roll a die, and do not cause abilities to trigger. For all intents and purposes, once you determine which dice count, any extra dice were never rolled.
2021-07-23 Some effects instruct you to roll again. This uses the same number and type of dice as the original roll, and that roll will use the same set of possible outcomes.
2021-07-23 Some effects may modify the result of a die roll. This may be part of the instruction to roll a die or it may come from other cards. Anything that references the “result” of a die roll is looking for the result after these modifications. Anything that is looking for the “natural result” is looking for the number shown on the face of the die before these modifications.
2021-07-23 The instruction to roll a die and the effect that occurs because of the result are all part of the same ability. Players do not get the chance to respond to the ability after knowing the result of the roll.
2021-07-23 Tournament events have more specific rules regarding dice and die-rolling. For more information, please see the most recent version of the Magic Tournament Rules at https://wpn.wizards.com/en/document/magic-gathering-tournament-rules.
2021-07-23 While playing Planechase, rolling the planar die will cause any ability that triggers whenever a player rolls one or more dice to trigger. However, any effect that refers to a numerical result will ignore the rolling of the planar die.
