Texto da carta

+1: Put a 1/1 colorless Construct artifact creature token with defender onto the battlefield. −1: You may sacrifice an artifact. If you do, destroy target artifact or creature. −6: Choose target artifact card in a graveyard or artifact on the battlefield. Put three tokens that are copies of it onto the battlefield.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast excels at generating card advantage by creating a Construct token with his first loyalty ability. This provides a continual stream of blockers or the means to pressure opponents without expending additional cards from your hand.

Resource Acceleration: His second loyalty ability serves as resource acceleration. By sacrificing an artifact, Daretti destroys any target artifact or creature, clearing the path for an aggressive strategy or simply disrupting your opponent’s game plan efficiently.

Instant Speed: While not an instant-speed interaction, Daretti’s ability to instantaneously impact the board right after being cast can be compared to the versatility instant speed spells provide. He can either create a defense or remove a threat on the same turn he enters the battlefield, offering immediate utility and flexible response to in-game developments.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast comes with an inherent drawback that can have strategic implications. Players may be hesitant to play Daretti due to the required premise of discarding another card, potentially depleting hand advantage which is critical in maintaining flexibility and options throughout a game.

Specific Mana Cost: The mana costs associated with Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast are precisely defined, including a color combination that may not be easily splashed into just any deck. This specificity often dictates that Daretti be included only in decks that can comfortably produce red and black mana, thereby narrowing the range of decks in which the card can be optimally utilized.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: This card presents a relatively high mana investment for the activated abilities it offers. In many scenarios, players seek to optimize their mana expenditure for maximum effect. Therefore, at three mana including two specific colors, some may find that other cards could serve their deck strategies more efficiently, whether it’s for creature control, utility, or overall impact on the game’s progression.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast brings a diverse toolkit to any deck, capable of creating artifact creature tokens, destroying unwanted artifacts or creatures, and offering a repeatable outlet for upgrading your artifact game.

Combo Potential: The card’s ability to generate tokens that are both creatures and artifacts opens up numerous combo routes, synergizing with sacrificial effects or allowing for intricate artifact-based interactions. This provides a consistent engine for various powerful game strategies.

Meta-Relevance: With a format that heavily features artifact strategies, including Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast presents a tactical edge. Its flexibility to control the board and foster combos allows it to adapt and thrive in a variety of competitive environments.

How to beat

Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast presents a multifaceted challenge on the battlefield with its capacity to generate deathtouch tokens, dismantle opposing artifacts and creatures, and fabricate significant card advantage through emblem synergy. Confronting Daretti effectively requires a strategy centered around swift and decisive actions.

One route to gain the upper hand is to exert pressure early in the game. Aggressive plays disrupt the establishment of control Daretti seeks to create. Attacking its loyalty points directly before it can accumulate enough to wreak havoc is key. Additionally, spells or effects that can bypass the token blockers by featuring non-targeted removal or board wipes can clear the path to maintain pressure on Daretti’s loyalty.

Controlling players might find success in pinpointing the precise moment to counteract Daretti’s abilities and playing around the emblem. Utilize spot removal or countermagic at critical junctures to keep the planeswalker from gaining momentum. Lastly, remember to keep a check on artefact recursion, as repeated value generation from artifacts is one of Daretti’s primary strengths. Interrupting these synergies can be the linchpin in toppling this ingenious iconoclast from their ascendant position in the match.

Cartas similares a Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast

Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast, is a unique planeswalker card that stands out in Magic: The Gathering. Its closest counterparts in terms of utility and functionality can be identified in other planeswalker cards such as Saheeli, Sublime Artificer. Like Daretti, Saheeli excels in creating artifact tokens, which can amplify the power of artifact-centric decks. However, Saheeli doesn’t offer the same direct destruction ability that Daretti does, with his -1 loyalty ability to sacrifice an artifact and destroy target creature or artifact.

Daretti also shares similarities with Tezzeret, Artifice Master. Both showcase strong synergies with artifacts. Nevertheless, Tezzeret’s higher mana cost and his focus on card draw and generating Thopter tokens create a different dynamic, and he lacks the immediate board impact that Daretti offers through his versatile -1 and -2 loyalty abilities.

Furthermore, Karn, Scion of Urza presents as another alternative planeswalker. While Karn doesn’t expressly create artifact tokens or destroy permanents, he can create powerful constructs and manipulate a player’s hand and library, which caters to a different strategic approach in comparison to Daretti’s more destruction-focused abilities.

In evaluating these planeswalkers alongside Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast, it’s clear that while there are overlapping themes in artifact manipulation, Daretti’s specific combination of token generation and targeted removal gives him a specialized niche in MTG’s diverse planeswalker lineup.

Data Texto
2016-08-23 For the last ability, if you choose an artifact on the battlefield as the target, and that artifact is no longer on the battlefield as the ability tries to resolve, the ability won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t get any tokens. This is true even if the card that represented that artifact is now in a graveyard. That card will be a different object than it was on the battlefield.
2016-08-23 For the second ability, you choose the target artifact or creature as you activate the ability. You choose whether to sacrifice an artifact and which artifact to sacrifice as the ability resolves.
