Texto da carta

Encantar terreno O terreno encantado é uma criatura preta 3/3 do tipo Lodo. Ela ainda conta como um terreno. Quando o terreno encantado for colocado num cemitério, devolva aquele card para a mão de seu dono.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Corrupted Zendikon is designed to bring an edge in card utility, turning a land into a potent threat. By using this enchantment, you inherit the ability to switch between ramping up your mana base and mounting a surprise offensive, potentially creating a two-in-one card scenario where the utilization of a single resource yields multiple outcomes.

Resource Acceleration: This card essentially allows players to squeeze more value out of their lands, facilitating resource acceleration. Transforming your land into a creature with Corrupted Zendikon can serve as a deterrent or an unexpected blocker, while still keeping the land’s capability to tap for mana, offering you strategic flexibility and efficiency.

Instant Speed: Though Corrupted Zendikon itself is not an instant, it synergizes well with cards that can be played at instant speed. This means that you could play Corrupted Zendikon during your main phase and still keep mana open to react to your opponent’s moves with instant speed spells. It also interacts well with any ‘landfall’ abilities you might be able to trigger in the same turn, thus offering a level of tactical depth that’s valuable in the fast-paced environment of competitive play.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Engaging a card like Corrupted Zendikon in your deck necessitates a keen strategy, as it requires discarding another card to utilize its aura. This can be a substantial drawback when your hand is already depleted or if every card in hand is crucial for your gameplay.

Specific Mana Cost: With a mana cost that includes black mana, Corrupted Zendikon’s deployment is constrained to decks that can provide this type of resource. This requirement may restrict its integration and effectiveness in a multicolored deck without sufficient black mana support.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: While transforming a land into a creature could become a game-changer, the mana investment for Corrupted Zendikon is significant. There are alternative cards in MTG that might convert lands or produce creatures for a lower mana investment, potentially offering a more economical solution for your deck’s strategy.

Reasons to Include Corrupted Zendikon in Your Collection

Versatility: Corrupted Zendikon can swiftly transform any land into a formidable 3/3 creature, fitting seamlessly into assorted decks that capitalize on creatures or land-based strategies.

Combo Potential: This card can synergize with landfall mechanics or strategies that benefit from creatures entering or leaving the battlefield, offering numerous possibilities to build around.

Meta-Relevance: As the MTG environment continually adapts, the ability to quickly field a sizable threat with Corrupted Zendikon could prove advantageous, particularly in formats where land interaction is pivotal.

How to beat

Corrupted Zendikon is a card that transforms any land into a formidable creature on the battlefield. With its ability to bring land to life as a 3/3 black Ogre creature, it presents a unique challenge. However, keen MTG players know that removal spells can be a lifesaver in such scenarios. Specifically, land destruction becomes highly effective here, as it nullifies Corrupted Zendikon’s effect entirely. Targeted spells like Shatter or Naturalize that deal with enchantments can also dispatch the animated land quickly, leaving your opponent without their potential beater.

Moreover, if Corrupted Zendikon is used defensively, evasive creatures can easily fly or trample over for vital damage, making the land creature less of an obstacle. It’s also worth considering that after the land has been turned into a creature, it becomes more vulnerable to the wide arsenal of creature removal spells in any player’s deck; quick and efficient spells like Path to Exile or Fatal Push can render the Corrupted Zendikon’s effect moot.

Ultimately, while Corrupted Zendikon aims to corrupt and convert the lay of the land to a player’s side, its power can indeed be mitigated. With a smart strategy and choice of cards, one can assure that this enchantment’s corruption is kept in check on the battleground.

Cartas similares a Zendikon Corrompido

Corrupted Zendikon is an intriguing enchantment in the vast repertoire of MTG. This card calls to mind other Zendikon enchantments like Wind Zendikon and Guardian Zendikon. All members of the Zendikon family have the unique ability to turn lands into creatures, albeit with various effects and stats. Corrupted Zendikon, for instance, transforms a land into a black 3/3 creature with haste until end of turn, bringing an aggressive option to your gameplay compared to its cousins.

Exploring further afield, we encounter cards like Awaken the Erstwhile, which also delves into the concept of transforming lands, but it notably generates Zombie tokens instead. Awaken the Erstwhile presents a different strategic route as it affects all players, potentially flipping the game’s momentum. Then we have Nissa, Who Shakes the World, a planeswalker with the ability to animate lands, not just for a turn, but permanently while also supercharging your mana production.

Each of these cards offer creative ways to leverage lands beyond their traditional role of mana production. Corrupted Zendikon stands out in its capacity for immediate impact through hasty aggression, carving its niche within the landscape of land animation spells in MTG.

Data Texto
2010-03-01 An ability that turns a land into a creature also sets that creature’s power and toughness. If the land was already a creature, this will overwrite the previous effect that set its power and toughness. Effects that modify its power or toughness, such as the effects of Disfigure or Glorious Anthem, will continue to apply, no matter when they started to take effect. The same is true for counters that change its power or toughness (such as +1/+1 counters) and effects that switch its power and toughness.
2010-03-01 An attacking or blocking creature that stops being a creature is removed from combat. This can happen if a Zendikon enchanting an attacking or blocking creature leaves the battlefield, for example. The permanent that was removed from combat neither deals nor is dealt combat damage. Any attacking creature that the land creature was blocking remains blocked, however.
2010-03-01 If a Zendikon and the land it’s enchanting are destroyed at the same time (due to Akroma’s Vengeance, for example), the Zendikon’s last ability will still trigger.
2010-03-01 If a Zendikon’s last ability triggers, but the land card it refers to leaves the graveyard before it resolves, it will resolve but do nothing.
2010-03-01 The enchanted permanent will be both a land and a creature and can be affected by anything that affects either a land or a creature.
2010-03-01 When a land becomes a creature, that doesn’t count as having a creature enter the battlefield. The permanent was already on the battlefield; it only changed its types. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature enters the battlefield won’t trigger.
