Cartas similares a Blessed Hippogriff // Tyr's Blessing

Blessed Hippogriff and its advent card Tyr’s Blessing add unique flavor to the pool of creature spells in Magic: The Gathering. Within the equine creatures’ landscape, it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with cards like Nimbus Swimmer. Where Nimbus Swimmer scales with the amount of mana invested into it, Blessed Hippogriff offers engrained life gain and flying, providing immediate board presence and stability.

Another notable mention is Crested Sunmare, which also generates life at the end of turns where you gained life, albeit in the form of additional 5/5 horse tokens. While Sunmare requires a build around it, Blessed Hippogriff synergizes with life-gain strategies straight out of the gate. Moreover, considering Tyr’s Blessing, this dual-faceted card introduces an enchantment that boosts other creatures, while Sunmare focuses solely on token generation.

Comparatively, when evaluating the multifunctional nature of Blessed Hippogriff alongside Tyr’s Blessing, it fits snugly into decks that benefit from aerial threats and incremental life gain. It’s versatility in both creature and enchantment forms sets it apart, making it a valuable tool in a pilot’s arsenal, especially in games where life totals are as strategic as creature control.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: Blessed Hippogriff // Tyr’s Blessing brings notable value by potentially transforming into a highly influential permanent that can replenish your hand, giving you a strategic upper hand over your opponent.

Resource Acceleration: This transformative card offers a distinct edge in resource acceleration. By ramping up your mana base when Tyr’s Blessing is activated, you have more freedom to deploy your game-changing threats earlier than usual.

Instant Speed: Being able to flip from the creature side to the enchantment at instant speed provides the flexibility to adapt to the unfolding game, ensuring that you can respond rapidly to changing board states and gain your advantages at just the right moment.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: Blessed Hippogriff // Tyr’s Blessing presents a challenge for players as it necessitates discarding a card for certain effects. In the heat of gameplay, this might force a strategic setback if your hand is already running thin on options.

Specific Mana Cost: Aligning your mana base to accommodate the specific mana requirements for this card is essential. If your deck isn’t tailored to include the right balance of colors, you may find yourself unable to cast it at a critical moment.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: Weighing the mana investment against potential in-game advantages is crucial. With a mana cost on the higher end, it’s worth considering alternative creatures or enchantments that could provide similar benefits but at a lower cost, preserving your mana for other pivotal plays.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: Blessed Hippogriff // Tyr’s Blessing offers adaptability to various playing styles. As a creature, it provides a robust presence in the skies, while its enchantment side bolsters your defenses with Ward. This card seamlessly integrates into decks emphasizing aerial strength or protective tactics.

Combo Potential: This unique double-faced card can synergize with decks that exploit creature abilities or enchantment synergies. Whether you’re leveraging its ability to enhance your life total or to fortify creatures against targeted spells, its dual nature opens the door for numerous compelling interactions.

Meta-Relevance: In a game environment where flexibility and resilience are vital, Blessed Hippogriff // Tyr’s Blessing holds its own. It can handle an array of threats and supports strategies that require a dependable creature or a means to safeguard key pieces on your board.

How to beat

Blessed Hippogriff alongside its flip side, Tyr’s Blessing, presents a unique challenge on the MTG battlefield. The card’s versatility is defined by its ability to provide both a powerful creature and an enchantment that can empower your other creatures. To effectively counter this dual threat, one must consider a well-timed removal strategy. Employing instant-speed removal spells that can target either creatures or enchantments before the player can capitalize on Tyr’s Blessing’s buffs is key. Cards like Path to Exile or Assassin’s Trophy offer efficient solutions to handle the creature before it flips, while Disenchant or Mortify can address the enchantment directly.

Another tactic is to limit the card’s impact by controlling the game state. This can be achieved by maintaining a favorable board presence, where your creatures outclass those buffed by Tyr’s Blessing, or by using counterspells such as Dovin’s Veto or Negate to prevent the card from resolving in the first place. In matchups where Blessed Hippogriff is prevalent, including versatile answers in your sideboard tailored to your playing strategy will enhance your ability to navigate through the Challenge it poses.

Data Texto
2022-06-10 An adventurer card is a permanent card in every zone except the stack, as well as while on the stack if not cast as an Adventure. Ignore its alternative characteristics in those cases. For example, while it’s in your graveyard, Altar of Bhaal is an artifact card whose mana value is 2.
2022-06-10 An effect may refer to a card, spell, or permanent that “has an Adventure.” This refers to a card, spell, or permanent that has an adventurer card’s set of alternative characteristics, even if they’re not being used and even if that card was never cast as an Adventure.
2022-06-10 Casting a card as an Adventure isn’t casting it for an alternative cost. Effects that allow you to cast a spell for an alternative cost or without paying its mana cost may allow you to apply those to the Adventure.
2022-06-10 If a spell is cast as an Adventure, its controller exiles it instead of putting it into its owner’s graveyard as it resolves. For as long as it remains exiled, that player may cast it as a permanent spell. If an Adventure spell leaves the stack in any way other than resolving (most likely by being countered or by failing to resolve because its targets have all become illegal), that card won’t be exiled and the spell’s controller won’t be able to cast it as a permanent later.
2022-06-10 If an adventurer card ends up in exile for any other reason than by exiling itself while resolving, it won’t give you permission to cast it as a permanent spell.
2022-06-10 If an effect copies an Adventure spell, that copy is exiled as it resolves. It ceases to exist as a state-based action; it’s not possible to cast the copy from exile.
2022-06-10 If an effect instructs you to choose a card name, you may choose the alternative Adventure name. Consider only the alternative characteristics to determine whether that is an appropriate name to choose.
2022-06-10 If an object becomes a copy of an object that has an Adventure, the copy also has an Adventure. If it changes zones, it will either cease to exist (if it’s a token) or cease to be a copy (if it’s a nontoken permanent), and so you won’t be able to cast it as an Adventure.
2022-06-10 If you cast an adventurer card as an Adventure, use only its alternative characteristics to determine whether it’s legal to cast that spell.
2022-06-10 When casting a spell as an Adventure, use the alternative characteristics and ignore all of the card’s normal characteristics. The spell’s color, mana cost, mana value, and so on are determined by only those alternative characteristics. If the spell leaves the stack, it immediately resumes using its normal characteristics.
2022-06-10 You must still follow any relevant timing rules for the permanent spell you cast from exile. Normally, you’ll be able to cast it only during your main phase while the stack is empty.
