Texto de la carta

, , Exile The Stasis Coffin: You gain protection from everything until your next turn.

Card Pros

Card Advantage: With The Stasis Coffin card, players can potentially remove a threat from the battlefield and bypass traditional forms of protection, thus swinging the game in their favor and subtly gaining card advantage.

Resource Acceleration: By providing a means of handling opposing permanents without incurring a loss on your own side, The Stasis Coffin can indirectly contribute to resource acceleration by preserving your assets while disrupting your opponent’s strategy and development.

Instant Speed: The ability to use The Stasis Coffin at instant speed gives players the flexibility to react to an opponent’s actions during their turn, creating a surprise element and allowing for strategic depth when timing is crucial to maintaining control of the game state.

Card Cons

Discard Requirement: The Stasis Coffin requires you to forfeit another card from your hand when you want to activate its abilities. This can be quite disadvantageous, particularly when your hand is close to empty and you’re in dire need of all your resources to make a comeback or maintain board control.

Specific Mana Cost: Casting The Stasis Coffin demands a precise combination of mana types which may not always gel well with decks that aren’t heavily based on that color. Flexibility is key in MTG and having a card that restricts deck building around its mana cost can deter players from including it in their varied deck strategies.

Comparatively High Mana Cost: With an activation cost that is on the higher end, players often debate its value, especially when considering other options in the same cost range. In today’s fast-paced game scenarios, getting the most out of each mana spent is essential, and there could be alternative cards that achieve similar or better results with less or more flexible mana requirement.

Reasons to Include in Your Collection

Versatility: The Stasis Coffin is an adaptable card, seamlessly fitting into decks that focus on artifact synergy or those that require effective removal solutions.

Combo Potential: This card has a strong synergy with strategies revolving around tap and untap mechanics or any strategy keen on temporarily removing problem pieces from the game board.

Meta-Relevance: Given its ability to disrupt opponents and protect key pieces, The Stasis Coffin’s relevance escalates in metas dominated by creature-heavy decks or where maintaining board state is crucial.

How to Beat the Stasis Coffin

The Stasis Coffin has emerged as a challenging artifact to face in the MTG arena, with its ability to lock down key pieces of an opponent’s strategy. Defeating this card requires more than just raw power or speed. To successfully navigate around the constraints of The Stasis Coffin, one must employ strategic removal spells or alternative tactics to undermine its control.

One effective method is to focus on versatile destruction spells that can target a wide range of permanents, ensuring you can dismantle The Stasis Coffin regardless of its defenses. Alternatively, utilizing cards with activated abilities that can still function under The Stasis Coffin’s restrictions can keep your strategy fluid even when key cards are immobilized.

Counterspells also serve as a preemptive strike against The Stasis Coffin, stopping the artifact before it ever lands on the battlefield. Lastly, integrating cards that can bounce or shuffle permanents into a deck can help restore imprisoned cards back to one’s hand or library, effectively nullifying The Stasis Coffin’s paralyzing effect.

Cartas como The Stasis Coffin

In the intricate weave of Magic: The Gathering, The Stasis Coffin offers a unique blend of utility and control by offering a temporary solution to threats on the board. Cards like Banisher Priest hint at similar functionality, providing a way to exile an opponent’s creature for as long as you control the Priest. Yet, The Stasis Coffin stands out by targeting a broader range of permanents, not just creatures.

Similarly, Oblivion Ring enters the arena as another parallel, bringing forth the ability to remove any nonland permanent until the Ring itself is dealt with. The Stasis Coffin goes a step further by not needing to remain on the battlefield to maintain its effect. When we line The Stasis Coffin up beside the likes of Fiend Hunter, we see a common theme of impermanent removal, but again, The Stasis Coffin’s non-creature flexibility gives it a noteworthy edge.

Assessing the subtleties of these cards, The Stasis Coffin finds its niche in MTG as a versatile tool capable of disrupting various strategies by temporarily sidelining key pieces of an opponent’s gameplay.

Fecha Texto
2022-10-14 Gaining protection from everything causes a spell or ability on the stack to have an illegal target if it targets you. As a spell or ability tries to resolve, if all its targets are illegal, that spell or ability doesn't resolve and none of its effects happen, including effects unrelated to the target. If at least one target is still legal, the spell or ability does as much as it can to the remaining legal targets, and its other effects still happen.
2022-10-14 If a player has protection from everything, it means three things: (1) All damage that would be dealt to that player is prevented. (2) Auras can't be attached to that player. (3) That player can't be the target of spells or abilities.
2022-10-14 If an effect says that damage can't be prevented, you can still take damage from untargeted sources, such as attacking creatures or spells that deal damage to each player.
2022-10-14 Nothing other than the specified events are prevented or illegal. An effect that doesn't target you could still cause you to discard cards, for example. Creatures can still attack you while you have protection from everything, although combat damage that they would deal to you will be prevented.
